Company Information
Armalon Limited, incorporating its predecessor Practisport, has been trading as a Registered Firearms Dealer for over 22 years. The firm was formed to take advantage of Peter Sarony’s long-standing interest in shooting and many match successes.
Having trained as an architect, Sarony then focussed on his pistol shooting and went on to develop new designs for improved centrefire practical pistols. The demand for these from fellow match shooters led directly to the original dealer registration and the start of commercial trading in the late 1970’s.
In 1982 the business moved from the original Old Bond Street premises to a new purpose built freehold building in Harrowby Street, also in London’s West End. The ground floor showrooms and offices, together with extensive basement stores, machine shop, workroom and test range, facilitated further design development and production.
The company’s expertise centred upon high accuracy repeating rifles, pistols and revolvers. Many specialised product and accessory designs were conceived and developed alongside the company’s full range of bespoke gunsmithing and top quality customising works.
Original and innovative design and development work has remained a key feature of the business, which enjoys commercial exploitation rights to the many Sarony copyrighted and patented products. Examples of these include:
- Sarony patented "Perfector" full length (pistol) recoil spring guide with buffer and accuriser system.
- Sarony "Lynx" handgun sights system, the first to successfully incorporate tritium illuminated nuclear lights into handgun iron sights, allowing uncompromised day and night use, both sharing a common idealised sight picture alignment.
- "Big Head" speed mag. catches.
- Multiple baffle full profile recoil & muzzle jump compensators, originated on the Sarony drawing board and in the company workshops.
- Origination of the S.u.B 4 x 36 and 6 x 42 Sniper scope system as adopted for the MoD’s L96 Sniper rifle.
- M14/M1A scope bracket system.
- Sarony (in association with Baron G D von Hüls) BGR Sniper rifle system.
- Armalon AM16ST optic for the M16 rifle – preferred scope system as selected by MoD Singapore from all international competitors.
- Sarony 'PR' QD box magazine conversion to Remington 700 pattern rifles .223/5.56 to .308/7.62 calibres, plus Browning BLR (.223/5.56cal) ‘PR’ conversions.
- Sarony 'PC' Gallery rifles in all popular pistol calibres including 9mm, .38Super, .357Mag, .40S&W, .41Mag and AE, 10mm, .44Mag and .50AE.
- Enfield No.4 scope mounts with pre-cant and requiring no gunsmithing.
- Sarony "Adder" Pistols
To cater for the increased product demand, the company acquired its own CNC machining centres, based upon state-of-the-art 22 auto change carousel 3D milling digital machinery, to complement its more traditional equipment.
The most recent development in the business is the planned expansion to incorporate the barrel manufacturing plant from Parker-Hale Limited. Armalon Limited would thereby in future be virtually self-sufficient in relation to the in-house production of its own small arms and accessories.
The company welcomes enquiries for contract work for other original equipment manufacturers, dealers and end-users.
